FAQ

When should I book my newborn session?

It's best to book your newborn session while you're still pregnant, I recommend booking during your second or early third trimester. Your newborn session is booked based on your due date and then depending on when baby arrives, the session can be rescheduled if need be.

When are newborns best photographed?

he best time to photograph your newborn is during the first two weeks from birth (Ideally between the 5-10 day mark) as once baby passes this time, it can be difficult to get them into the traditional newborn poses due to being less flexible and more alert. Our aim is to have baby nice and sleepy. While this time frame is highly recommended, we have also photographed babies up to the 6-7 week mark with success.

What should I bring to my newborn session?

Please bring along your usual nappy bag items including nappies, wipes and formula or expressed milk if you're bottle feeding. If baby will take a dummy, it's also a good idea to bring it along to help with soothing. I also suggest bringing a snack and some water as sessions can last a few hours. Siblings tend to become bored and restless during these sessions so it's a good idea to bring some quiet toys (so they don't unsettle baby) or an ipad/tablet to keep them entertained. I do also recommend having Dad or a family member take any siblings to the park (there are 3 close by to the studio) or home after the family photos to make them more comfortable.

How long will my newborn session go for?

ewborn sessions usually take anywhere from 2-4 hours.

What should we wear?

I recommend sticking to neutral colour tones and avoiding any harsh patterns and logos. The studio is also kept quite warm for babies comfort, so I suggest wearing layers or dress in cooler clothes.

When should I book my maternity session?

It's best to book your maternity session during your second trimester to ensure you don't miss out on your preferred date. Maternity sessions are also best photographed between 30-36 weeks, depending on the size of your belly.

What should I wear to my maternity session?

We have a range of maternity gowns for you to wear during your session, please ensure you wear skin tone underwear and a skin tone strapless bra, it's also a good idea to bring along some black and white underwear as well. Alternatively, a nice flowy dress or jeans a nice top look lovely as well! For partners, either jeans or plain shorts and a plain black or white shirt look great - however please avoid logos.

What do I need to book my session?

A non refundable retainer of $50 is required to book your session and then the remaining amount is due at the start of your session.

What happens after my session?

After your session, your images are culled and then professionally retouched. The images are then placed into a private online gallery for you to view and choose.

When will my images be ready?

Your images take approximately 2-3 weeks to be retouched and uploaded to your online gallery.

What happens if it's raining?

In the event of rain, we will unfortunately need to reschedule your session to the next available date. A decision will be made on the day of your session (approx 3hours beforehand) if the weather is looking quite overcast or if rain is predicted.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule my session?

All retainers are non refundable, however they can be transferred one time to a future session within 6 months. In the event of a session being rescheduled (except due to weather or photographer discretion) a new, non refundable $50 retainer will be required to book the new date. Failing to arrive to your session without prior notice will result in your non refundable retainer being forfeited.
